Since 1976, Mr. DeBell’s career has focused on key aspects of finance and accounting including auditing, financial statement preparation and examination, valuation, fraud examination, and other litigation support. He also provides consulting services in accounting, tax, insurance claims, estate planning, acquisitions, and divestitures. After thirteen years as a Certified Public Accountant with a large international auditing firm, Mr. DeBell served as a Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Finance and Administration for a business enterprise conducting work in Russia, North Korea, Mexico, North America, and Alaska. Mr. DeBell’s role included representing his company in the Exxon Valdez oil spill and other litigated matters. His engagement work has also included damage measurement analysis on businesses impacted by the BP Oil and Santa Barbara Oil spills. More recently, Mr. DeBell’s practice has focused solely on litigated matters and on his work as a trustee of a large trust. Mr. DeBell provides Veritas with experience to support both plaintiffs and defendants, and he has worked extensively with short-term and long-lived litigation resulting in positive outcomes.
